our story
“The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery.”
– Mark Van Doren
We’ve been around since 1971, quietly yet passionately teaching students of all ages to play the piano through reading music. A pioneer in the industry as one of the only and largest piano-specific conservatories in the country, The Conservatory has honed our methodology by successfully teaching over 10,000 students in our history, and we have a great time doing it. With two Columbus locations, we are proud of the contributions we make to music education and the arts. We strive to make piano lessons a fulfilling, enriching and lasting part of our students’ development.
While we take our responsibilities seriously, we never take ourselves too seriously. We like to have fun and we like our students to have fun with us. We’re always light-spirited and up for a good laugh. Visit our facebook page for a glimpse of our shenanigans.

our passion
our teachers
Our hiring process includes a background check, a full-time commitment, an applicable college degree, and a sincere desire and passion for teaching. We hire the best with palpable energy and enthusiasm for helping each student succeed.
Our instructors implement a proven methodology that will make your child score higher on standardized tests, more likely to receive college scholarships and be better-adjusted socially.
Oh, and they will play great, too.
we give back
We believe it’s so important to give back to our community and help children value the importance of service. You can find us at local festivals (yearly sponsoring the Dublin Irish Festival), participating in the 10 TV Big Toy Drive, sponsoring The Salvation Army LemonAID stands and annually sponsoring The Conservatory of Piano’s Christmas Festival of Giving to benefit the Smile Train organization who helps families, supporters, and medical professionals transform the lives of babies born with cleft lip and palate. Our students, faculty, and staff take pride in the help our efforts provide to those in need in central Ohio.
